No End In Sight

Randy, Kobe, and I look forward to the day when we have no masks and no social distancing.  May there never be forced vaccinations.  This coronavirus situation just lingers and won't go away.  Excessive social distancing weakens our immune systems.  Even when it's "green", we still cannot go back to the way we were.  I feel for the small businesses.  How are they supposed to return and make money when they are not allowed to reopen?  Many small businesses that do reopen end up closing again...for good.  We are trying to keep things as normal as possible where we live even though where we live is "yellow".

As a family, we live a normal life in our house and on our property.  We walk the trails on our property, eat breakfast together, have family movie nights, do our chores, etc.  Supermaxi has normal hours but the masks, social distancing, temperature taking, spraying with industrial-strength rubbing alcohol remain.  The grocery stores are still well-stocked...especially when I arrive as close to the time they open as possible.  Approximate hours:  Monday-Saturday 7:30 am to 8: 30 pm.  Paute has businesses open but it is surreal to see people with masks and small businesses allowing in some cases only one person at a time.

After going to the bank in Paute, I was happy to be home again.  Being at home is a great escape from what is happening in the world.  Also, I have the opportunity to think about what I miss.  I miss traveling the way it used to be.  World borders closing again is another worry.  The worst part is the closing of borders within the borders of different countries.  I am doing my best to stay positive.  May all of this come to an end during my lifetime.

Our entrance looks even better.  On top of the arch is a Christian cross.  Our family name (Kimmick) is in the background.

The sunlight shining through the leaves is sheer beauty.  It makes walking on our property even more magical.

Cookie (girl) was resting on the trail.  She turned around because I called her name so she will look at the camera.

Lucy (girl) enjoys following me around and I enjoy it when she is with me.  She makes sure nothing bad happens to me.

One of the many flowers on our property.  I just love the geometric design of this flower.

It is winter here in Ecuador.  The clouds now look like this most of the time and provide rain.

The Paute River is flowing very nicely because it has been raining.  This is a COLOR ACCENT effect.

Our house can be seen behind the pink tree.  The tree is pink because I used the COLOR SWAP effect.

When I am at home I feel as though I am in paradise.  I was a city girl but I adapted very well to rural living.
