Downtime
I was supposed to blog on Sunday, July 19th. The reason I didn't blog last Sunday because I was so busy. Now I have two blogs: this blog and a blog about anything written in Japanese. I enjoy blogging so I don't mind having two blogs. I also have a female penpal who lives in Japan who is my age (56). I enjoy writing her. It will be nice when Japan opens its borders completely. Also, I will be getting back into coding at least once a week as soon as possible. Housework takes up a lot of my time...especially cooking and cleaning the kitchen. I enjoy cooking. Cleaning, not so much. This downtime has given me time to see the world just getting more crazy, insane, erratic, and...interesting. Unfortunately, we live in "interesting" times.
What is on my mind much of the time is the countries of the world. Especially their borders. Most countries' borders are either completely closed or partially open. Ecuador is the only country in South America that has borders that are open. Brazil is partially open and the rest of South America is closed. Japan, the country that means a lot to me, has borders that are partially open. I enjoy visiting Japan because it's one country that Randy does not worry about me exploring alone. The information comes from the Kayak website. In the online search, be sure to include "travel restrictions". This Coronavirus Crisis needs to come to an end.
The worst part of this pandemic is isolation. People are tired of having to stay inside all of the time and this is understandable. Staying inside is making people mentally ill, gain weight, always in a bad mood, become abusive in every way, and worst of all, weakening their immune systems. The saying, "More is not better." rings true in this situation when it comes to vaccines. We should not become too dependent on medicines of any type. We, as a family, are grateful to live where we can roam freely on our property. Also, give each other space when needed.
The new trail that is parallel to our driveway is just about complete. It is beautiful and majestic. A safe way to walk up to our driveway. We have our computers and laptops hardwired to reduce the number of signals coming from our router. More plants on our property. Our place is getting more beautiful every day. Being able to go outside keeps us calm and sane.
Kobe, our 18-year-old, is doing well. He is still studying coding and Japanese. Kobe does help out with grocery shopping from time-to-time.
These are the cherimoyas from our trees. To help the large cherimoya ripen properly, we wrapped the large cherimoya with brown paper bags and a dry bath towel (on top of the brown paper bags).
Here is a scenic view from our hot tub area. Low clouds on the hills are common here. It is winter now. The Sierras (Azuay Province) is much cooler in temperature than the coast.
Cookie (girl) enjoys resting in the bushes in the area of our scenic spot. We found her on the side of the road nearly dead of starvation. Look at her now!
These are the steps near the abandoned Indigenous house on our property (FOILAGE effect). We love hiking up and down these steps.
These are the cherimoyas growing on our tree (FOILAGE effect). Our property is full of cherimoyas.
Lucy (girl) (front) and Lucky (boy) (rear) are relaxing in the front yard. They had been running all over town.
Here is Micaiah (girl). We have to keep her in our back/side yard because she cannot resist the chickens of our neighbors.
As you can see, I am very comfortable in nature...despite growing up in a very large city (Los Angeles, California).
