New Trails At Happy Trails

We are having another trail built along our driveway so people do not have to walk up and down our driveway.  Also, another scenic route added to our property.  We have had old trees and plants cut and burned down (controlled burn) and new trees and plants added.  This includes plants that are edible.  We walk up and down our trails at least five days a week.  When we are not walking up and down our trails we are on our computers and laptops.

Randy keeps up with current events and plays war games on and off Facebook.  To balance things out he does read outside because he loves sunshine and fresh air.  Kobe also keeps up with current events.  He also studies coding and Japanese.  Just like Randy, Kobe is also a gamer but he plays games like Minecraft.  I am on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).  Also, I study Japanese and coding.  Samba is my main form of dance.  I take classes online via Zoom.  Now I have a blog:  Everything Written In Japanese where I keep all of my writings in the Japanese Language.  The newest thing about me is now I have two female Japanese penpals my age (56) who live in Japan from the My Language Exchange website.  I am still grocery shopping every week.

Rodrigo Saca of Paute and I went to Don Bosco Supermaxi in Cuenca.  The usual police and military checkpoints, temperature checks, spraying with industrial-strength rubbing alcohol, masks, etc.  The supermarket was well stocked on Tuesday, July 7th, and Sunday, July 12th.  Now everyone has to sit in the back on any type of taxis...even family members of taxi drivers.  The good news is we no longer have to have our original US Passports with us.  Kobe did go to Cuenca on Tuesday, July 7th.  After five months or so, he was able to get a haircut from Michael Offen of Cuenca.  Kobe was tired of his large afro and Michael cut his afro to half the length it used to be for no charge...except for free pizza.  He loves his shorter afro because it is less maintenance.  I was more than happy to help Kobe maintain his afro but Kobe was ready for a change.  I like his shorter afro but miss his larger afro, too.  Randy likes his shorter afro because people will now focus on Kobe's handsome face and not only his hair.  His afro needs to be trimmed every four to six weeks.  We are enjoying life while waiting for many countries in the world to open its borders.

He is Kobe on a rare outing in Cuenca (Tarqui).  He is loving his shorter afro.  Easier to maintain.

Our gardener is burning down old plants to make new for new plants.  Our property will be one giant garden.

These are the eggs from our chickens.  The egg in front is from our older chicken.  In the rear, it is the egg from our younger chicken.  We have five chickens in all (two younger chickens and three older chickens).

This is the Puente Europa bridge.  The Europeans donated this bridge to our town.  Our town was named Chicticay until 1993.  The old bridge was wiped out by the flood of 1993.

Randy is on the new trail.  This trail will be parallel to our driveway.  A walkway for pedestrians.  Jaime Tamay (Maestro) is in the picture along with Cookie (girl) and Lucky (boy).

The Flat Earth Theater.  May we have concerts again in the foreseeable future.  A Flat Earth is a possibility.

Here is one of our older chickens (hens).  They love their corn and any fresh produce that we do not eat.

There is no keeping me indoors for very long.  I enjoy being active and eating healthy.  Also, using fresh aloe vera on my hair, skin, scalp, and nails.
