Wake Up Call

We have a new President.  Whether he won fairly or not is not allowed to be questioned.  No more free speech.  The country I was born in no longer exists except in my memories of what was.  It was an inside job.  Our own leaders, red and blue, have betrayed us and our Constitution.  Those who keep cheering for their team to win will hopefully see the common people have no team.  Watching this from afar makes it much easier to deal with.  Instead of trying to save a sinking ship, we have decided to try someplace else just like our ancestors who left their countries to seek the freedom that America promised but never delivered.  (Randy's thoughts.)

I am happy there is a new President (Joe Biden) and Vice President (Kamala Harris).  The President and Vice President we had before were not doing the US any good.  Beginning today, may there be less divisiveness.  Fewer lockdowns.  No mandatory vaccines and masks.  More businesses thriving.  More freedom of travel.  We are fortunate to have a sanctuary here in Ecuador.  Many people around the world are not as fortunate when it comes to a safe place.  I keep hope alive by indulging in my favorite hobbies:  blogging, dancing, reading, writing, photography, being out in nature, and studying foreign languages (Spanish and Japanese).  Don't give up hope.  Be the person that makes this world a better place.

I love walking these trails.  They make me happy.

The Paute River is peaceful.

Eddy is resting under the beach that is a scenic spot.

We love our blue house.

The steps along our driveway are majestic.

The clouds and sky represent fresh air.

One of our chickens is laying eggs.

Kobe (age 18) feeds the chickens and rooster, makes sure they have clean water, and collects the eggs.

I am happy to be living someplace that feels like a sanctuary.
