Waterfall and Spanish Class

Randy and I visited Girón, Azuay, Ecuador.  Kobe stayed home and took it easy.  We decided not to take Kobe with us because at age twelve he is old enough to stay home alone for a day and he did not want to visit Girón.  Kobe is a city boy at heart.

We took the bus from Terminal Terrestre in Cuenca.  The ride to Girón was one hour including stops to pick up and drop off passengers.

A vehicle took us to a town above Girón (El Chorro) for $5.00.  So beautiful and green.  Randy and I had lunch at the restaurant and walking up to the waterfall.  Breathtaking!  Since we are Permanent Residents and have our Cedulas, admission to the waterfall was $1.00 per person instead of $2.00 per person.  Permanent Residents and Citizens receive the discounts.

Before returning to Girón, we had some hot chocolate to warm us up.  It was another $5.00 to have a vehicle drive us back to Girón.  We took the bus back to Cuenca.  For Cuenca to Girón it's $2.00 round trip per person.  We got off the bus in El Centro and walked home after shopping at Supermaxi.

The next day we attended Spanish class.  For the first time in a long time, Randy and Kobe received homework.  Kobe did his homework, Randy did not.  He (Randy) is very stubborn.  I definitely did my homework because I want to be fluent in Spanish.  Randy and Kobe are learning about Reflexive Verbs and I am learning about Subjunctives with Georgina Nunez.

Patricia Olivo (Pachi) advised Randy to say something if someone overcharges him for anything, like bread at the Panadaría.

We also received some refreshing rain.  I braved the rain to pick up our laundry at Mr. Wash.  We use Mr. Wash twice a week.

I am still leaning towards becoming a Citizen of Ecuador and Randy is weighing the pros and cons of becoming a Citizen of Ecuador.  Life is good here and continues to improve.
