Cuenca Carnaval

Angee Morocho of Cuenca, Azuay, Ecuador.  She was born in Loja, Loja, Ecuador.  Performing at a city park in Cuenca during Carnaval.


This afternoon, Randy and I walked around downtown Cuenca (El Centro).  Kobe went to the nearby tienda and relaxed at home.  There was almost nothing happening when it come to Carnaval.  We ate at Cafe Austria and after lunch sat by the Tomebama River.  It was very peaceful and relaxing.  After we returned home, I went for a walk.

While walking down Avenida 24 de Mayo, I saw a large Carnaval celebration.  People with their tents and creating a fire pit with charcoal.  Many types of food was cooked, Cuy (Guinea Pig), pig, beef, etc.  People were also playing in the river.

I was squirted with foam and I enjoyed it.  During the Carnaval, Randy and Kobe were at home.  The performer, Angee Morocho, is very talented.   She also gave away free posters.  So nice of her!

Around 6:00pm, I walked home.  I had so much fun at the Carnaval I didn't want to leave.
