Food

I went to a Cuenca Newcomers Luncheon.  It was at Don Colon restaurant in Cuenca and so much fun.  Met many nice people and had delicious food.  The choices were a grilled chicken meal, a beef meal, and a vegetarian meal.  I chose the grilled chicken meal and enjoyed it.  There will be another luncheon in the near future and I look forward to the next event.

Instead of Spanish class, my Spanish teacher, Patricia Olivo, treated me to Cafe Austria in Cuenca.  I ordered a hot chocolate and fresh fruit.  Patricia ordered hot chocolate and a fruit/vegetable platter with a side of french bread and butter.

In the morning I went to my Belly Dancing class (no photos).  I enjoy my Belly Dancing Instructor, Susana Claudia Meneses Guardia (Sussy Shabana), and the other Ecuadorian students.  There are no men or boys in the classes or private lessons.  Susana (Sussy Shabana) is originally from Bolivia.  The classes and monthly private lessons are in Spanish since the teacher and students speak little to no English.

I have videos of Susana but I am not allow to make the videos public so no one steals her choreography and not give her credit.

Belly Dance classes are one to two hours and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the mornings.  Private lessons for me are once and month, one hour, and the second Tuesday of every month in the morning.  Monthly classes are $35.00 per month and private lessons are $8.00 per month.  Men and boys are welcome but none have signed up for Belly Dancing at this time.

Randy and Kobe stayed relaxed most of the day.  Kobe did go to the nearby tienda (small store) and purchase snacks (lemonade, watermelon Trident, and two large Nestle Crunch candy bars).

Life is good here in Ecuador.  Ecuador is not for everyone but it is definitely for us.
