Street Performers, New House, New Food, Performance, Spanish Class

I'm so happy I finally have time to continue my Blog!

On Monday morning after Belly Dancing class, I decided to walk home.  On the way home I saw a street performer and took a photo of him.  The partner of the street performer who was collecting money called me and he walked up to me.  He demanded that I pay the performer (they are partners).  I wouldn't have minded paying the street performer if I was asked nicely.  I only paid so he would let go of me.  Paid 50¢.  No more photos and videos of street performers, as long as I'm fed up.  This happened on Calle Hayuana Capac in Cuenca near Pumapunga.

Also on Monday, we looked at a rental house (unfurnished) in Cuenca in the subdivision El Cebollar.  This subdivision is near Católica University (UCACUE).  The house is two stories, three bedrooms plus an office and two bathrooms.  There is a front yard and a large laundry room with a hook up for a washer.  The house is unfurnished and $400 per month not including utilities.  We move into our house May 1, 2015.  The house is being fixed up by the owner, Gladys Rubio.  The lease is for one year.  Our friend and Spanish teacher, Patricia Olivo of Baños (near Cuenca) helped us find this house.  Patricia's nickname is Pachi.

Tuesday, Randy and I took a bus ride (#16) to see our rental house in Cuenca.  We were going to eat at the nearby Pizza Restaurant but the restaurant was closed.  Instead we ate and a traditional almuerzo.  The food was delicious.  Bar El Godo Godo is the name of the almuerzo.  The best bus to take to our house is the #20.

Wednesday, I went to the Spanish Meet Up.  I lead three other people in conversing in Spanish because I was the best Spanish speaker at my table.  The event is every Wednesday at noon at San Sebas restaurant in Cuenca.  It's free and purchasing food is optional.   A tv station was filming a performer and his backup dancers.  It was great to witness the show and to be able to take a photo and video of the performance.

Thursday, Randy and I signed the contract for our rental house.  Randy was so grateful for Pachi helping us he gave Pachi $20.00.  Pachi treated me to Goza Café in Cuenca.  In the morning, I had a waffle with powdered sugar, strawberries, and bananas at a kiosk near the Supermaxi in El Vergel Shopping Center in Cuenca.

As usual, we went to our Spanish classes during the week.

Kobe had to miss Archery on Thursday because of signing the contract for our rental house with a lawyer.

After a long break there was heavy rain on Tuesday.  Now the rivers will rise again.
