Carnaval in Paute
Randy didn't feel like attending Carnaval in Paute or anywhere in Ecuador...let alone the world. He stayed home. Since Randy didn't want me attending Carnaval in Paute or anywhere else far outside of Cuenca, he had Kobe attend Carnaval with me even though Kobe didn't want to attend Carnaval.
When Kobe and I found the REAL Carnaval in Paute (on the river), I had a great time. Kobe didn't have a good time because he was overwhelmed by all of the activities. His retreat was riding on the Merry Go Round in the park next to the small amusement park...which we thought was Carnaval. Thank goodness we were wrong.
A Facebook friend, Amy Carter Studebaker of Paute and her family, led us to the REAL Carnaval.
Later on, we met a friend of mine, James Carroll, who lives in Paute. He took us on a tour of his lots and the homes he is building on his lots. James has one home that is partially built and will be completed May 2015. When completed, it will sell for $180, 000 or best offer. The house is three stories, three bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms. This homes and other homes will have Internet. Large lot.
It is beautiful up in the hills above Paute. So green and breathtaking.
After the tour, James took us to the bus station in Paute.
The bus ride to and from Paute was $2.00 round trip per person.
We took a taxi back home.
Randy had a relaxing day, I experienced Carnaval as did Kobe, and Kobe did something besides play games on the computer and Skype.
