Spanish and Politics

Randy and Kobe take Spanish classes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  I take Spanish classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  We usually take Spanish classes in the afternoon.  Randy and Kobe take classes together.  I take classes with another woman or alone.  Our teacher is Patricia Olivo who has an office in Downtown Cuenca (El Centro).   She is an excellent Spanish teacher.  She charges an average of seven dollars per hour.  US currency is used in Ecuador and has been since the year 2000.

One excellent reason to take Spanish classes (besides being able to communicate with the emergency department in Ecuador [911]) is to be able to pass the Ecuadorian citizenship test.

One of my many incentives to become a citizen of Ecuador is hearing from Randy everyday about police brutality, racial profiling, social workers taking children away from parents for homeschooling, for example, how the economy is getting worse in the USA, etc.  He finds this true information from writers like Martin Armstrong.  Why would I want to live in or be in citizen in a country where I have to worry about our son being taken from us because someone just doesn't like us and they call Child Protective Services (CPS)?  They can make up any reason to take our son away.  Scary!  Also, Randy being afraid to have company in the US because someone may throw us under the bus.  Fear of calling the police because they may overreact and shoot us.  Sounds as though US citizenship is not a benefit, anymore.

We feel much more free in Ecuador even though every country in the world is far from perfect.

Cheap shopping...SO over that these days!
